      Art became a part of Gloria's life in 2000, after leaving the IT profession as a System Analyst.  The journey began with jewelry, metalsmithing and welding classes.  In 2005 a need to learn how to draw led to painting courses.  This is when Gloria found her obsession, oil painting.  She became fascinated with the transparent, brilliant luminous quality of an "Old World Style" of painting, called Technique Mixte.  Gloria began to study this incredible style, with amazing teachers and she's become a permanent fixture in the studio ever since.  Studying art has allowed Gloria to refine her technical skills and has given her the opportunity to work with talented supportive teachers and fellow artists who have amazing creative energy.  Pastels are a new medium she began to seriously explore last year and loves the results.  The new pastel paintings will make a welcome addition to the oils in an exciting new "Leaves and Trees" series, currently on Gloria's easel.

      Residing in Lockport, Illinois with her husband Jeff, Gloria is always dreaming of creating the next beautiful painting.  Spending many hours in the studio drawing, painting, and most recently exploring photography, gives her great pleasure.  Therefore, Gloria's hope is that the profound joy she finds in creating art is reflected in each piece.
